CLIENT OVERVIEW

KM Partners has been engaged in the search for a unique Senior Vice President of Development for one of the fastest growing Affordable Housing companies in the country. Our client is focused on the sourcing, acquisition, management, and redevelopment of multifamily Affordable Housing & LIHTC properties throughout the country.

 

The company has acquired over $100MM of Section 8 multifamily assets in the last 12 months alone and are increasing expansion efforts. Our client is focused on the long-term growth of the portfolio and recapitalizing new or previously acquired properties through LIHTC. They are looking for people to join their team with a similar mindset.

 

Taking on their first institutional investor in 2020, the company has never been more capitalized or poised for more growth. Our client is offering a unique compensation structure due to their aggressive nature, which could result in significantly higher than industry compensation. Their goal is to create the best Development team in the Affordable Housing industry.

 

THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a regional leadership position directing all facets of the company’s development in that market:

  • This position will lead the sourcing, structuring, and acquisition of affordable multifamily communities in their region

  • All properties will be acquired with the strategy of preserving those communities through rehabilitation with the LIHTC program, from concept to stabilization

  • This position will have flexibility to either work independently or with a team and will ultimately be measured and compensated based on the developer fee revenue that they produce

  • The Senior Vice President will advise the Executive Vice President of Development and CEO on strategic opportunities within the SVP’s market, leading all hiring, assessing new asset types, and developing opportunities that expand the company’s profit centers

  • The Senior Vice President of Development will report directly to the Executive Vice President of Development and will have the autonomy to lead and grow their region in accordance with their vision

  • The vision for the region will be updated on an annual basis, a process that will allow the Senior Vice President to discuss and plan their region’s strategy with the EVP of Development and CEO directly

 

PRINCIPALS

Business decisions are ultimately made by the Owner, who relies heavily on the feedback from the Executive Vice President of Development and Senior Vice Presidents. This creates an environment of quick decision making that will allow entrepreneurial, creative professionals to thrive.

 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Highly entrepreneurial with a history of high performance

  • The ability to lead a small team to successfully manage the life cycle of Affordable Housing deals efficiently

  • Ability to solve problems independently

  • Successful track record and strong reputation within their desired market

  • Up-to-date deal sheet demonstrating the ability to close Affordable Housing transactions and see them to stabilization within the portfolio

  • Understands, creates, and cultivates strong relationships within the industry including sellers, government entities, and financial partners

  • Ability to implement and employ long-term growth strategies

  • Ability to run their region independently but also to work with senior management to develop strategies for growth and the future success of the company
