The Opportunity

Our client, a leading developer-investor and owner-operator of Affordable Housing nationwide, has retained us in the search for an experienced Originations-Acquisitions professional to join their team on the West Coast. Since inception, this company has acquired more than $500M of multifamily properties consisting of more than 8,00 units nationwide. Our client is well financed through high-net-worth and private equity investors with a forward-thinking strategy, sophisticated business acumen, and progressive, entrepreneurial, collaborative culture. This full-service real estate company works to provide affordable housing for low-income families throughout the United States.

An expanding national portfolio and big appetite for continued growth as well as immediate exposure to the management team, offers a potential for accelerated advancement for top performers.

 

Summary of Position

Source and originate new opportunities for the acquisition of qualified Multifamily Affordable Housing (including GP and LP interests) for individual assets and portfolios throughout the United States. Execute through cold calling, emailing campaigns, and attending industry conferences to schedule meetings with owners and other industry contacts. Build, cultivate and manage relationships with high target contacts through leveraging and growing a national network to uncover proprietary deals for the acquisitions team.

 

Essential Functions

  1. Proactively source and originate new opportunities for the acquisitions team to consider for purchase through diligent execution of cold calling and emailing campaigns, while effectively managing relationships

  2. Build and maintain a robust pipeline of new opportunities by directly cold-calling owners in target and emerging markets, identifying potential deals, and cultivating long term, value-add relationships by effectively differentiating the company’s unique value proposition

  3. Strategically and systematically prepare for conferences by scrubbing attendance lists, setting up meetings with high target contacts, and working with owners. Opportunity to travel and attend industry conferences.

  4. Consistent execution and impeccable organization of outreach sequences, leads follow up, and CRM contact management to continuously prospect for new deals; leave no stone unturned

  5. Various ad hoc projects

 

Requirements

  • A proven successful track record of sales experience making cold calls and originating new opportunities

  • Knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of real estate; familiarity with Affordable Housing is a plus

  • Must have experience utilizing a CRM for relationship management, logging notes from conversations, timely and consistent contact follow up, and email communications

  • Ability to operate with minimal oversight with a mindset that takes full ownership of their role and responsibilities while collaborating with the rest of the team.

  • Great time management skills (the ability to execute potential investments quickly)

  • Good presentation and communication (oral and verbal) skills.

  • High energy professional who values working hard and performing at a high level
