The Opportunity
Scope of Responsibility
  • Primary job responsibilities will be to coordinate, implement, and manage activities related to Affordable Housing development
  • Support the leadership team in all aspects of Affordable Housing and LIHTC acquisition, rehabilitation and development
  • Support acquisitions and new construction efforts including analyzing potential development projects for the firm
  • Research and help to develop financing sources, prepare financing applications and meet other lender requirements
  • Prepare and update project proformas and complete project funding applications to local, state, and federal agencies and ultimately close the financing with all such agencies
  • Coordinate and manage third-party contacts and vendor teams
  • Manage and advise the Construction team to ensure timely completion of a financially feasible and operationally viable project
  • Prepare and monitor project budgets, cash flow projections, and project schedules including monitoring contract compliance throughout the development process
  • Perform site inspections; coordinate with Accounting on tax returns and audits and collaborate with Asset Management to establish and ensure long-term quality
  • Initiate and maintain professional relationships with outside entities and stakeholders
  • Strategize and coordinate with other departments to make certain programmatic issues regarding development and operations are addressed
  • Frequent travel will be required
 
Required Education & Experience:
Candidates for the Project Manager position should have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and five years of on-the-job experience in Real Estate Development with an emphasis in multifamily affordable housing development project management and LIHTC. A Master’s degree in a relevant field is a plus.
 
Candidates should be skilled with MS Office suite and recognize that detail-oriented tasks are critical to a business’s long-term success. The position may include additional Project Management responsibilities, as listed below:
 
  • A Bachelor’s degree and years of on-the-job experience in Real Estate Development preferred with an emphasis in multifamily housing and Affordable Housing development project management
  • Experience in Affordable Housing / LIHTC required
  • Prior experience in development project management is a plus
  • Skilled in MS Office suite
  • Strong awareness and attention to detail as assigned tasks are critical to the long-term success of the organization
  • High degree of independence, motivation, and accountability
  • Exposure to private and public debt financing and equity typical of Affordable Housing development
  • Able to work with time sensitive material and meet multiple competing deadlines
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and written and verbal communication skills and a high capacity to multi-task
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are a must as well as the ability to work effectively with a team
  • Ability to travel as needed
