THE OPPORTUNITY
This group is highly active with a progressive approach and has been expanding its product offering, which has further increased its deal volume and client base and has also enhanced its execution, analysis, and creativity in deal structuring. Their key differentiators continue to stand out in the market, and they’re on track to have a record year; senior leadership has big plans for growth, and there is plenty of opportunities for advancement to help drive the success of the company.
 
This is a newly created position due to growth, offering the opportunity to join this smart, energetic team and work collaboratively across departments, alongside incredibly impressive Tax Credit experts who are great to work with and will empower you to operate with autonomy and give you the tools you need to succeed.
 
HIGHLIGHTS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Generate leads for 4% and 9% LIHTC investment opportunities with new and existing clients as well as structure, negotiate deals and act as primary relationship manager through the deal life cycle
  • Analyze initial due diligence; identify and mitigate risks and exceptions to underwriting guidelines
  • Responsible for marketing the firm in assigned territory by maintaining and building relationships with LIHTC developers, consultants, state agencies, attorneys, and accountants
  • Be a resource to Investor Relations, Acquisitions, and Asset Management during underwriting, closing, and operations
  • Attend and participate in conferences in the territory including speaking on panels and hosting targeted marketing events
 
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & REQUIREMENTS
  • The position requires at least 4+ years of experience in Section 42 LIHTC with a solid understanding of real estate development concepts, and the affordable housing field (i.e. HUD, Sec 8)
  • Must have an ability to perform financial analysis of sponsors for all multifamily development proposals by analyzing appropriate income statements, balance sheets, and statements of changes in the financial position
  • Knowledge of key aspects of real estate development and finance, land use and entitlement, property due diligence and acquisition, and site planning and design
  • Experience in underwriting and structuring low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC) transactions, required
  • Ability to initiate and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with team members, government agencies, consultants, lenders, investors, and developers
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to identify and resolve issues
  • Must be sales and goal oriented with excellent client and public presentation skills
